The extra magnification is the real deal for me, and I find the decrease in FOV compared to the 25x model to be negligible. The quality is exceptional for this price, with better than average fit and finish... (click here for more).
To the best of our knowledge, the 10-pound, 17-inch long Garrett Gemini® 30x100 WP-IF is the highest magnification fixed-power binocular available in this price range. And you can experience the benefits of that extra magnification every time you're out under the stars. The 30x oculars do provide a significant boost over the standard 25x models, which makes this a great design for teasing out detail in deep space objects, not to mention glimpsing the rings of Saturn and Jupiter's moons. Our own moon will reveal surprising detail in this binocular.
Everything about these instruments says "quality." Their attractive rubber armoring and hefty all-metal CNC-machined and cast aluminum construction is guaranteed to last for many years to come. The optical quality measures up to that of the precision mechanics, which makes these excellent instruments for astronomical observation. Fully broadband multi-coated optics and BaK4 prisms farther enhance the view. The 30x100 is available in the IF configuration only - it utilizes smooth, CNC-machined individual focusers provide the precision focusing essential for maxium performance on astronomical targets. A new feature on the 30x100 is the integration filter threads into the eyepiece assembly, to allow the use of any standard 1.25" nebula or neutral density filter. This is a great new feature for amateur astronomers that has the potential to enhance the observing experience. Collimation can be adjusted by experienced users, if necessary.
Every Garrett Optical binocular must pass a rigorous 14-point inspection that insures a high degree of both optical and mechanical performance, including accurate collimation. Any necessary adjustments are performed by a highly experienced technician on a U.S. Navy Mark V Collimator. Each binocular is covered by our two-year warranty and 30-day return policy. An added perk is that every Gemini Waterproof binocular comes with a deluxe heavy-duty carrying case with durable PVC armoring and aluminum trim. The cases are lined with soft, "egg-crate"-style foam for maximum protection.
Designed primarily for astronomy, the 30x100 WP-IF is one of the best stargazing binoculars available in its price range. The huge 100mm (four-inch) objective lenses and unusually strong magnification give this binocular a performance boost that simply can’t be matched by lesser instruments. Keep in mind that its size and the resulting 10-pound weight will require a hefty mount, though the awe-inspiring performance will be worth it. The 30x100 WP-IF features slightly shorter eye relief in order to allow its high-performance 30x-magnification oculars to provide suberb sharpness and resolution accross its flat, 2.0° field of view.

Here's what reviewers and customers are saying about Garrett Optical's Gemini 30x100 WP-IF binoculars:
I just wanted to say thank you for the whole experience of buying from you. The Binoculars (Gemini 30x100 WP-IF) arrived extremely quickly, very well packed and in perfect collimation. Communication from you was fantastic and very reassuring at all times. I had my first chance to use them last night and was blown away by the scale and clarity of the images they provided. They show wonderful extension in the brighter Messier galaxies, stars are near pin points in 85% plus of the field and the combination of excellent coatings, superb mechanical build, aperture and power make these binoculars a superb bargain at the price (even taking international freight and customs duty into account!). All in all i couldn't be happier. Thank you! - Richard Duff (U.K.)
Recently I got the chance to travel to the Canadian north and had pretty decent skies there. Unfortunately, it was way too cold for serious observing, but I could really understand what these binoculars are capable of. The Pleiades were indescribably beautiful, M42 showed amazing detail, darker and brighter regions, and M44 looked like diamond grains on black velvet. I am very pleased with my Garretts, I think I made the right choice. The extra magnification is the real deal for me, and I find the decrease in FOV compared to the 25x model to be negligible. The quality is exceptional for this price, with better than average fit and finish. And the views- they will amaze everyone, whether one likes astronomy or one's just curious to see what those monster binoculars can do. I would definitely recommend buying these binoculars. Don't worry about the TFOV, it's not like looking through a keyhole, like I initially thought! And with this price, you can't go wrong. You will never regret to own them, it's a good investment, build to last for a lifetime. - Victor Barbu (Canada) Click here to read the full review on CloudyNights
What
can I saw about my new Garrett 30x100 binoculars.... First I looked at
Venus and saw it as a disk with partial shadow. I was in awe! Next over
to the Orion [nebula]. It appeared as though I could reach out and
touch it, the depth and clarity were beyond anything I've seen in my
15x70's or my 133mm reflector telescope. The stereoscopic experience
(for me) was worth every minute I waited. Delivery was what I would
consider prompt and very affordable. Thank you very much for a pleasant
experience all around, I will be a repeat customer, for sure!
