I recieved my Garrett 8x42 DCF-TWP roof prism binos and I have to say I have been impressed... (click for more).
It's hard to imagine a better travel binocular than the Classic 8x42 DCF-TWP. Have you ever missed the action because
your cumbersome full-size binocular was too inconvenient to drag along?
Remarkably compact and lightweight at just 1.5 lbs. and 4.8 inches
long, this binocular is much smaller than most 42mm roof prisms, making
it an ideal companion for travel and outdoor activities - yet it still

features triplet objective lenses for outstanding flat-field images.
Other features include excellent broadband multi-coatings on all
air-to-glass surfaces, plus the addition of special phase coatings on
the BaK4 roof prisms for outstanding sharpness. Birders will appreciate
the 1.5m close focus distance, and all will enjoy the wide 6.7° field
of view and generous 19mm eye relief. If you've been searching for a
compact binocular that doesn't sacrifice light-gathering power or

I recieved my Garrett 8x42 DCF-TWP roof prism binos and I have to say I have been impressed. I use these for general purpose daytime and as my scanner/finders at night. While they may not see as deep as [my 70mm binoculars], I have to say they are sharper and have more contrast, very light, very small and the diopter adjustment is clickstop and stays put where you set it.
