Designed to be portable and compact, our updated Garrett® 70mm F/6.2 binocular telescope is a joy to use for astronomy. The 90°-angled precision helical focusers now accept standard 1.25-inch telescope eyepieces for even greater flexibility. This
design is much easier on the neck than a conventional straight-through
binocular, and its light weight of just 8.9-pounds makes it fast and
easy to set up. You get the best features of a small rich-field
telescope -- such as 90° viewing and variable magnification -- without sacrificing the three-dimensional viewing experience of a
binocular.
The
flat-field objective lenses deliver high-contrast views of deep space
objects and solar system targets alike -- from quick looks at the moon to
observation of comets, the Garrett® GT70-90 binocular telescope can do
it all. Additionally, you always have the ability to expand your magnification range by inserting virtually any 1.25" telescope eyepiece from 40mm down to about 9mm. The updated Mark II version now features twist-lock eyepiece holders to insure precise centering and make switching between eyepieces easier than ever before. The included 25x eyepieces feature wide and sharp 63° apparent fields of view.
A dovetail base for our optional MRRF finder is now pre-installed on the left hand barrel of the binocular at no additional charge.
All
air-to-glass surfaces in the air-spaced achromatic objective lenses and
the prisms are broadband multi-coated, and the precisely-polished
prisms are crafted from high-index BaK4 optical glass. The cast-aluminum
binocular body features a durable and attractive glossy white finish
and integrated retractable dewshields.
The optional Series 5000 Tripod+Head combo is a good
match for this instrument, but you can also use any heavy-duty tripod or
parallelogram mount with a standard 1/4"-20 threaded mounting stud.
Included with each binocular telescope is a high-quality aluminum-trimmed carrying case.
Each binocular telescope is individually tested for collimation as part
of our 14-point inspection, and any necessary adjustments are performed
by a highly-experienced technician. Covered by our two-year warranty

It was the first light tonight with my GT70-90's. The seeing was good but the transparency was not. Jupiter was really nice ... with the 25x [eyepieces] I could see four bands. The four moons I saw looked crisp and pinpoints of light. The Moon was also very nice in both sets of eyepieces. The CA was there but not nearly as much as I thought there would be. The double cluster was, well, STUNNING! ... Keep up the good work.

I received my GT70-90 this past weekend and have had a chance twice to use them from my balcony at home. I'm impressed with the build quality. No cheap plastics here. [...] I'll be using these binos to start/complete my Astronomical League Deep Sky bino certificate. I've finished the A.L. Messier Bino certificate already. Also as you said, a red dot finder isn't really necessary, just sight along the handle. I think I'll have these a long time.
