I almost hate to let the secret out about how good
these binocs are.... My opinion is if you are buying binocs for Astronomy
and want the best option that you can hand hold the Gemini 11x56 are
the way to go... (click here for more).
Our 11x56 Lightweights pull in significantly more light than standard 50mm designs, making them a great choice for amateur astronomy - yet they're still easily used freehand. The Gemini® series are an affordable way to build memories under the stars with family and friends. They're also an excellent choice for long-range hunting, birding, marine and surveillance applications.
The lightweight Gemini LW versions provide the most bang-for-the-buck of any binoculars around. Every Gemini big binocular features prisms polished from high-index BaK4 glass and our best-quality Broadband Multi-Coatings on every air-to-glass surface (including the prisms). It's features like these that make Gemini giant binoculars such a great choice for amateur astronomers, hunters, and birders. Binoculars excel at deep space observation - viewing objects such as star clusters and nebulae. Quick looks at solar system objects are also rewarding - Saturn will appear elongated, the moons of Jupiter will be in evidence, and Earth's own moon will reveal intense detail.
At under $100, the 11x56 LW model is an excellent choice for affordable hand-held astronomy and long-range observation. The 5.1mm exit pupil of the 11x56 model provides good contrast for those with light-polluted skies or brighter terrestrial conditions. Field of view is wide at 5.8°, despite the strong 11x magnification. The 56mm diameter objective lenses gather about 25% more light than binoculars with 50mm lenses. Each binocular is covered by our two-year warranty and 30-day return policy.
Every Garrett Optical binocular must pass a rigorous 14-point inspection that insures a high degree of both optical and mechanical performance, including accurate collimation. Any necessary adjustments are performed by a highly experienced technician on a U.S. Navy Mark V Collimator. Tripod Package Available - Save up to $48:

Here's what reviewers and customers are saying about Garrett Optical's binoculars:
...After much research, I selected the Garret Gemini
11x56 binocs. They are excellent, the optics are clean, and the views
really appear 3-d, I had read about the 3-d effect in viewing with
binocs, but in my 8x42 set never really experienced it until now. In looking at the moon last night, I was struck with awe, it was crystal clear, very detailed and bright.
The binocs weigh in at 2 lbs 4 ounces , and I was able to hand hold
them comfortably for around 30 minutes before getting tired. The views
are spectacular and clear. The 11x, allows me to clearly seem some of
the moons craters, I was able to see Jupiter but not able to see
planetary details. I could make out the 4 moons next to Jupiter. I was
able to see m22 cluster and m13 vaguely. I could see may double stars,
and the Albiero double with a gold and blue star looked amazing. The field of view in excellent and comes in at 64 degrees. I spent a good 20 minutes just panning around the sky.
[...] I almost hate to let the secret out about how good
these binocs are, because then people will start buying them and their
prices will go up. My opinion is if you are buying binocs for Astronomy
and want the best option that you can hand hold the Gemini 11x56 are
the way to go.
