We strongly recommend purchasing a second pan-handle for the 501HDV head – this makes it easier to control heavy binoculars while panning, in addition to providing added comfort to the observer. The 3246/501HDV combination is extremely tall, with a maximum height of over 93 inches – just one more reason it is such a great choice for our heavier binocular models.
